Yesterday, for first time in awhile, I headed to the Warped Tour.
I find this picture really amusing. 1) I don't think it really quite captures just how dirty I was 2) It almost looks like I have really bad leg hair and I've just been camping for awhile.
Overall, I had a sweet time. I had a great time to the Bouncing Souls and Less Than Jake, as I expected. I thought Joan Jett was pretty good, but everyone was half dead by the time she went on. NOFX did their usual fuck-up banter shit, but redeemed themselves with some good songs. Against Me! rocked, in my humble opinion. The last time I saw them was awhile back in a shitty club in Maine with horrible sound, so it was nice to see then in a better venue (um, despite the dust). The dust and the heat were big killers. The Bouncing Souls compared the environment to Africa.
Despite the long drive, the heat, and the dirt in my lungs, I'm glad I went. I'm also glad that there are a ton of good shows coming up. Realizing the summer has flown by because work and family have enveloped 80% of my life causes me to freak out and feel...out of touch. Shows are one way I can feel like myself again.
Random last bit here: Shows always make me want to get rid of my hair. It's too long for me to keep it up and out of my face any way I know how. If someone has a good suggestion, throw it my way.

Please, please, PLEASE don't ever cut it!!!!
I went to Warped Tour last year to flyer the show for the Boston Tattoo Convention and it was so damn lame! It really has turned out to be a money-making event and no longer a cultural event
However, I do agree with you that this year's line up had some spark in its line up and NOFX never disappoints and/or is good to just have shits and giggles!
