I'm still here and kicking, in case anyone was wondering...
Just had a weekend in Melbourne, had an Awesome time. Saw Wicked, which was great, the wicked witch and the good witch are total lesbians, oh and Bert Newton can't sing.
Also, the gay clubs in Melbourne rock!!! Seriously rock. They actually have gay ppl there, you know, not straight ppl who go to gay clubs to say that they've been to a gay club. Also, the first one we went to had a 'back room', I thought those only existed in the movies.
And now for my most recent rant (drum roll plz):
Why isn't prostitution legal in OZ (or at least in Adelaide)? Sex is natural and healthy and fun. People are allowed to be paid for entertaining others with their voices, but that's not even all that healthy. People are allowed to be paid for cooking for others, and that is sort of healthy. People are even allowed to be paid to be maids, and yet prostitution is illegal. The biggest problem with illegal prostitution is the unhealthy aspects, such as STDs or girls being abused by customers, but that could all be fixed were it legal. If the health benefits aren't enough, politicians should at least accept the taxation possibilities. I mean, people are going to do it anyway, if it were legal the government could tax it.
But most importantly, it's illegal coz so many people see sex as a dirty word. If people didn't have sex we wouldn't have people. IT IS THE MOST NATURAL THING POSSIBLE. And yet... illegal. In fact, if prostitution were legal, and acceptable, there would probably be a lot more happy people out there. Coz really, sex is pleasurable and pleasure makes people happy. Also, most men have higher sex drives than most women (and most people are straight), prostitution would be a great way for men with partners unable to keep up with their desires in bed to remain fulfilled. And wow could I ever go on. But I probably lost any unwitting reader on the second sentence, so I'll leave it at this: Prudes are idiotic.
