So I just finished listening to the new single off of Rush's new album. The song is called "Far Cry". Let me be the first to tell you that this song sure was a "far cry" from a crappy song. Oh god, that was some sweet, sweet pun action. I think i'm gonna need a towel to clean myself off after that one.
But yeah, seriously, the song is pretty damn good. Neil Peart and company (Face it, without him there is no Rush) can still rock my nerd ass off.
I had a lovely weekend with the lady-friend up north. My mother seemed to like her, which I suppose is a good thing. We had a fun filled day on Sunday, hitting up several of the a-typical Arizona towns that she hadn't been to. Started off with a short trip into Sedona, then down to Jerome where we spent the bulk of the day. She took about 150 pictures, half of which are pictures of me looking like a prick. She kept taking them when I didn't know she was pointing a camera at me. Either that or she would bark orders at me to stand next to one of many of the dilapidated buildings in the town. I know I sound bitter, especially since i'm going to go ahead and tell you the only time i'm not bothered by having my picture taken is when i'm drunk, but I really didn't mind at all considering most of them turned out well. That, and she offered to scratch my back when we got home (which I am totally gay for). She's retarded cute.
We started back from Jerome late in the day, after a meal at the Haunted Hamburger, on the 89-A (The road with like, 150 fuckin' curves to maneuver as you go down a mountain). We both kinda realized we would be coming awfully close to Prescott, a town neither of us had been to. It wasn't too late in the day, so we decided to take a detour and visit downtown Prescott. It was a nice town, but its pretty useless for a couple of people that are under 21. I was awfully impressed by the number of bars on the road dubbed "Whiskey Row". Seemed like a lot of "western themed" bars from what I gathered by walking past them. Seems like it would be a good place to see some hot, racist, shit-kicking redneck bar fights in full swing. Oh, to be 21. Less than one and a half years left. Fuck, it seems so far away. Anyway, everything aside from all of the bars was closed due to it being Sunday night and all. We found some cafe that was open. We both pumped up on caffeine and made the trek back to Williams.
Jesus Christmas, a new Rush album and a new Dream Theater album coming out within a month from each other. 2007 will be a fine year for Prog. Yeah, that's right fuck-o, I listen to better music than you do. Get over it.
I'd go gay for Rob Halford. Straight up. Anyone who says differently is a communist. Like fer reelz.
Praise Spring Break. Praise it.
EDIT: 150 150 150 150 150 150 150 150 150 150 150 150.
