Frankly, Mr. Shankly, I'm a sickening wreck
I've got the 21st century breathing down my neck
I must move fast, you understand me
I want to go down in celluloid history, Mr. Shankly
Fame, Fame, fatal Fame
It can play hideous tricks on the brain
But still I'd rather be Famous
Than righteous or holy, any day
Any day, any day
So here we go.. A few more random photos from France.
As far as we knew.. This is the last, or only French art nouveau house in existence. We were wandering away from the Eiffel tower looking for wine and bread, when we stumbled into it completely on accident. I would probably cut my arm off to live here.. Or at least a pinky. The place is amazing, and the inside is even cooler. I love art nouveau architecture, and this place completely grabbed me when I saw it.
Nothing special. Just the happy couple saying there vows.. As well as some flowers growing on a very old stone table.
This is the main room of an old train station that was converted into a museum. We wandered around here for a couple of hours and saw a ton of stuff I would have never dreamed I'd see in person. It's one thing to sit and study a Van Gogh in a book, learn about how it was done, and what it symbolizes. It's a completely different thing to stand right next to it. To see the thickness of the paint, and to see the tiny little bits of dust and hair that are caught on the minute crests of the brush strokes. A surreal sort of feeling indeed.
Picnic time the evening before the wedding. We were in the back courtyard of the chateau overlooking the valley. A few of us americans and a few of the french all crowded around a blanket drinking beers, eating various cheeses, and meats, and enjoying the last minutes before sunset.
