"Sleep is for the lucky ones
Those who have their heads on straight"
Its been known by many for a while that in a lot of respects I have a strange life. The things I do, the places Ive been, and the odd brushes with luck, and tragedy. My life has been like this for quite a while. The people who think they know me, may or may not hear of these adventures. Over the years things have certainly changed. As they do with all people. Our directions change as we grow older and more mature. As we develop, the road we choose for our life takes us to new places, where we meet new people, and discover a little bit more about ourselves.
Long ago, my life started heading in many directions. New interests, and a need to break away from the people that held me down. Fast forward a few years, and I found myself living in a handful of distinctly autonomous lives. None of them knowing much of the others. To an almost surreal degree of absurdity.
Last night I found myself sitting in a lounge watching one of my favorite musicians play. Twiddling with knobs, and keyboards. Fumbling with his guitar and microphones. Recreating songs that he had written at a different time in his life. For a different crowd, and played in a different way. As I sat there I realized that three of the individuals sitting next to me, happen to be the three most important people to me. Three people, from three very different aspects of my life. Some who had never spoken to each other until last night. The people whom keep me sane, and give me hope. The ones who remind me to love, and be loved. Some Ive known for years, some months. But all the same they are the ones who keep me from feeling lost.
All converging on one trivial place at the same time. So subtle and insignificant that the moment could have been just as easily lost in the music. Ironically the very subtlety of it all is what made the most impact to me. Maybe its time to start living one life.....

And yes life can be very crazy and random. But that is what makes it interesting.
