For the record, having a hurricane go right up the pooper is not as much fun as you might imagine it to be. In fact, it pretty much sucks.

Our power went back on some time early this morning, having been out since Friday night. No power - no airconditioning, no TV, no internet. Like Robinson Caruso, as primitive as can be. Where's the Professor when you need him to make you a solar powered airconditioner out of coconuts?

Of all my hurricanes, I think this is the first I've gone through at night. Normally I can watch he action out the window and see trees falling, livestock flying, etc. But this time it hit after dark, and once the street lights went it was pitch black. We sat by candle light listening to the howling winds and a constant thumping of debris pounding the roof and walls. It was a bit on the creepy side, I tell ya.

But we all survived and by now there's just piles of tree limbs to show for it.

I think I may go dance tonight. Screw you Charley.

P.S. - One week from today is my birthday. I'm turning twenty-two. Yay!
