So this has been a rediculously crazy couple of weeks. I was officialy made the manager of The Bakery and have subsequently been working 60hrs/wk in the lead up to christmas and chanuka. Also I just spent four days in oregon visiting with family. I found out the day before I left that my grandpa slipped on some ice. He's in his eighties with severe alzhiemers and managed to break his pelvis in three places. I told him goodbye yesterday and just found out that he has developed pnuemonia and has lost his gag reflex which means he can't swallow. Everyone is at the hospital right now waiting it out and trying to make him comfortable. I just got back to New Paltz after travelling for the last sixteen hours and I haven't slept for more than a few minutes at a time in the last thirty six hours.
My grandfather led an amazing life...he descended from a family of fur trappers and mountain men in eastern oregon. He met my grandmother in a little town nestled in the wallowa mountains. They raised seven children together, one passing away at an early age, and another (my mom) being a diabetic since she was seven. He loved working with wood, leather, obsidian, and beads...he made moccasins for my aunt, uncles, and mother when they were little...he made toys for his grandchildren, and he made the cradle I slept in when I was born and the dresser still in my room today. He was a skilled craftsmen and will be a stubborn man with a great sense of humor until the moment he passes.
You never truely realize how important someone is until they are being pulled away from you.
To all the people who have put a smile on my face...I love you dearly.

How is your grandpa doing? Any better? Yeah, the lessons in life, huh? I remember when I was prolly 7 or 8 hearing someone who was either very sick or dying saying all that they regreted from their life and it really stuck for me. I almost think a bout that shit too much.....like doing what I want to accomplish and saying what i feel and just no regrets. So far, so good. I think that is whats kinda cool about knowing old people.....being able to learn from their lives.
I just wish I had more monies$ to travel this planet with. Still trying to figure out how to make that happen..
