So yesterday there was a blizzard warning for Halifax. This morning there was no word from work about closing so I got ready and left for work. After a while the snow got worse and worse. The higher ups decided that we should stick it out as the worst was supposed to be around 11 am. Unfortunately, by 1 pm it looked like this out the windows at work.
And it was only getting worse. Soon we heard that the malls were closing, Walmart closed, the grocery stores and the liquor stores closed. The busses were pulled off the road and even the Police were pulled off the road. My work still would not close. Half the office was leaving sporadically throughout the day and they still wouldn't close. They just kept sending emails saying that it was safer to stay at work. At around 3 they sent out another email saying that instead of closing they booked 100 rooms at a hotel about a mile or more away so people could continue to work and then walk to the hotel after. When that was sent out I looked outside and saw only white. It was then that I decided that I had had enough and was going to leave. Ended up taking a couple people with me and made it home by around 4. Then just a few minutes ago I took these. Sorry about the lighting.
With this kind of snow I'm thinking that you wouldn't want to be here to see it @saraphim. I'm also thinking that this could come back on the office in a bad way as there were a lot of people getting pissed off about the way they handled the blizzard. Anyway, I'm home now and relaxing with SG and Doctor Who.
Hope everyone else in the area is doing alright and all the rest hope you have a great weekend.
