I think I really hate getting older. When I was in my mid-20's, I could have went to Hell City, and not have needed time to recover. Now that I'm in my mid-30's, it's gonna take me a week to recover. I did enjoy myself though. I also ran into a few SG people I have met and hung out with previously as well as meeting a few new ones. Not that I can honestly remember the names of the new folks I met, I'm terrible when it comes to names until I've talked to people a few times. Or maybe I should say that in my old age, I suffer from "can't remember shit". I think I like that one better.
I also have something I've been holding back and keeping quiet about for a little over a week. As many know, I have been with the same young lady for almost a year now. I'm going against everything I've always said, and I asked her to be my wife. We're in no rush to go out and get married, (she's still legally married to her oldest children's father), but we are engaged now. I let the cat out of the bag Sunday at Hell City to everyone in our room, but held off until now to tell everyone else. Through all of the issues we've had over the last year, we've always worked them out. Something that's never happened in previous relationships. I think I have finally found the one for me.
On a totally unrelated note, the radio station I DJ on is looking to add some new people. We have quite a few available time slots. All that is required is a passion for music, and a little bit of time every week to be on air. Unfortunately it's not a paying gig, but it is good experience for anyone who loves music. We are branching out a little bit and doing some talk radio as well for those interested. If this sounds like something you would be interested in, let me know and we'll work out the details.
