The lights blinded me as the cars pass on the other side of the highway.
The lights shoot through the gridded median, then they are gone.
My tires leave a hypnotic song hanging in the night air, so quiet yet so inviting.
The divider lines sweep past, so hard to count.
Blink.
The world swings past the window, surrounded in darkness.
No shapes are discernable.
Everything is so calming in the dead of the night.
Blink.
The window rolls down, cold night air whistles inside the car.
The light just beginning to lighten the sky, barely enough to notice at all.
Blink.
A rush of panic.
Blink.
Over compensation.
Blink.
Maybe its time to pull over.
Trying to capture the feeling I had falling asleep for a fraction of a second while driving home from work...
Pretty scarey, I slept for a few hours on the side of the road after that.

And yeah, sleep driving ain't much fun
