I don't know what the hell is wrong with my roommate but she smells disgusting and so does her basket of laundry. Maybe it's the whole rewearing clothes and not brushing her teeth. And eating really greasy food. Ugh.
Anyway... I get to go home next weekend. I'm excited 'cause that means extra sleep and free food that doesn't suck.
I went to this restaurant called Summer yesterday and had a curry. With tofu. I was pumped. I haven't WANTED to eat meat all this year so generally I don't... But when it's that or get sick, I kind of have to. I'm excited to have my own kitchen next year.
I decided next year I really can't let my social anxiety get in the way anymore. Besides, most people I meet are nice. I'm gonna join the school paper, stay in College Democrats, join Inside Government, and my goal is to know everyone on my floor next year (my floor this year sucks. The girls are mean and I only really "know" two others).
I'm also going to try to force myself to do a semester abroad. At first I was gonna go to China second semester but I think I want to look into other options as well. Loyola does a thing over the summer where you can go to Tunisia for 23 days, which sounds REALLY cool and since I want to join Peace Corps later and be involved with non-for-profit organizations in the future (possibly), I feel like it would be a good idea.
Is it unusual to go abroad not knowing anyone in your group going? Cause I doubt I would. I'm shy so I have to prep myself for this stuff. It's a bit frustrating.
Yesterday I helped AnchorpersonOnTV and his friends organize a casting session for their work this year in school. So essentially I sat outside the room and helped people fill out forms/get organized. It was surprisingly a lot of work.

Good luck with all that, and props for being interested in Peace Corps
