Well i'm back from austin! goddamn, it was amazing fun. I got to see my bestest babygirl megan, love her to death for sure. first night Mom (djsyndicate) and i took some happypills from amsterdam, went to a blues show at this place called TC's ("the last blues divebar in austin") then back to the 21st street co-op where megan lives. then we broke into the pearl street co-op's pool, cause apparently the two co-ops are feuding. go figure, i thought it was all about sharing and shit...?
anyway, that was monday. oh also we kept referencing national lampoon's saying "but we're making good time!!!" anytime anything went wrong on the road.
tuesday we made appointments for tattoos with carnie marnie at perfection tattoo. yays. then me and mom walked downtown austin, grabbed some good-ol shiner bock, then headed to the river to watch the bats come out at sundown. we ended up just doing a case of whippits and left before the bats came out, cause it was like 9. yea, we're cool.
on wednesday we drove to san antonio, walked the riverwalk, then saw iron maiden! we were in the first 5 people let in, so we got this awesome spot up against the front barricade just stage right of center. Bruce dickinson pointed at me and smiled cause i had a shit-eatin grin on my face the whole time. Also, Steve Harris seemed to like us, he kept screaming in our faces. Eddie was about 15 feet tall, and there was this like 25 foot moving mummy thing that came out at one point. not to mention extreme pyrotechnics and fireworks and shit. it was the craziest/most amazing thing i've ever seen. i'm pretty much complete now.
While debating iron maiden tattoos (I want Eddie on my arm) i realized i should do a dedication to ALL the bands that have influenced me thus far, kind of a conglomerate sleeve of, for example, patsy cline, iron maiden, jethro tull, no doubt, the misfits, NIN, etc. this would be kind of a half-finished 1/2 sleeve, so it can be added to with new influences. good idea, jah?!
so thursday we went to perfection and i got my tattoo, it's about 7" tall by 2-3" wide, on my right ribs, a red line siberian tiger that megan drew. it went from pencil sketch to directly on my skin. very similar process as my tree, actually. She got a red arctic fox in the same spot... long story short, i got her portrait and she got mine. we also both have black line tattoos on our right lower backs, we're so gay. i lurve her.
thursday night i drank too much lonestar. it happens.
left friday, so sad to leave my baby but i'll see her again. got stuck in epic 4 hours traffic on I10 just after houston, apparently the bridge had a hole in it and they let traffic back up for about 3 miles just to make everyone turn around. so the 9 hour drive turned into about 13. ahwells.
and now i'm home, with sore ribs and a lot of dirty laundry, and going to work at 3. now, at least, i can look forward to making licoricebandit buy me dinner-- i demanded it of him when we hung out last saturday night.
still rockin everything hard than you ever could. kickassssss...
