the stars are different here. just as bright, and the same celestial bodies, but in different locations relative to me. it sinks in how far i am from what i really want to call my home.
i miss the skies of the sahara; clear and crisp and with nothing yet everything to offer. so much potential for-- for what, exactly, i'm unsure.
the skies of accra were moody. usually tumultuously changing from almost-purple, calm blue to grey, hesitant clouds ready to drench; or so naked that you have nothing to look forward to but a swelteringly hot romp through the bush. which is, actually, quite a bit to look forward to.
as much as i love the smell of dry, cool air, i think i may love the dripping feeling of perpetual warmth a bit more. it's purifying and comforting.
to travel is to enlighten your perspective. to live in africa is to show you why you live.
but maybe the only person who's felt that is me. maybe i'm just lucky.

North Carolina and Tennessee have the same sky. It's gorgeous. It's soothing. Illinois sucks. Kansas is almost bewildering fantastic, at night, in a lightning storm. As well as reminiscent of a Who song.Kansas has great sunsets, too.
You are lucky.
Long time no say hi. I forgot how hot you were...so hello sweet baby. Have a wonderful weekend.
