Well! The Pirate Weekend was a success. A couple days of long hard work, but it was not nearly as painful as I was afraid it was going to be. Since I was Assistant Director, it was up to me to maintain a semblance of order to the madness and although that is pretty draining, it's nice to be able to make things happen when you want them to happen. Everyone was really cooperative and all our extras were most energetic and enthusiastic. The crew was dynamite, as always, but I knew that would be the case.
The set was pretty neat. They took a huge barn/warehouse/workshop kinda thing out in Florence and built a big pirate tavern inside it, with a balcony level on one end, a big chandelier and so on. It looked cool. It would have been a lot of fun to get a big gang of people and go drink ourselves into a stupor in there and get in fights and such. I love that stuff. I think that's why I love making movies so much. I get to create and live out my fantasies. And hopefully get paid to do so...
I think the director has a website for the movie, lemme see... yeah, maelstromthemovie.com
I haven't checked the site out, but I think it's got some pics from our few days of shooting in early summer, and it'll have pics up from this weekend soon. Check it out if you so desire. Hopefully within the next week or so we'll be launching the new website for the movie we shot last year, complete with trailers and all. I'll keep you posted.
So life is good, I'm at home for at least a few nights which is ecstatically good. See everyone Thursday night if not sooner!

Did you get attacked by the big movie monster? He he, still laughing at the description of that thing.
