Okay, seriously free time is overrated and it basically bites monkey butt. The musical ended on Saturday so my afternoons are now free. I am no longer in charge of 19 middle school girls every day until 5 and I have hours, hours of free time now. Okay, maybe when my life is insane again I will look back on all of my free time...

Black Rebel Motorcycle Club and Band of Skulls are playing at First Avenue this Saturday and I need to know if they are worth seeing, If anyone has an opinion, feel free to share. Tickets are 20.00 and they play them on the Current here in the Twin Cities, and they seem to be worth checking out, I just do not know how they are...

It is Monday and I have the day off. After last week I figured I deserved it. Being at school for 70+ hours, even though it was a blast, deserves a Monday off.
Of course, now I am bored. On a separate and definitely more positive front, Henry Rollins will be here on my birthday!

This was written to all those teachers who say "Never smile until Christmas."
I teach because I cannot imagine myself doing anything else and being this happy. I adore each and every one of the students I work with and I work with some stinkers. Yet, I do not mask this adoration, but rather I wear it as a badge. I wear this badge openly,...

Ideologically I agree with you - actually, wholeheartedly I agree with you....realistically however, not so much. Teaching in the NYC public schools makes "don't smile until Christmas" a necessity...it's rather sad. Mostly the reason why I left teaching in the public sector and am now looking for something a bit different...
Kudos to you for making what you believe in work. If only it worked for all of us - though I will continue to try!!

Please continue to try and keep smiling. They need it, more than they realize. I know that I am able to get away with more than some (6'6" and 240 lbs) so kids pay attention to me since I am not small. However, they respond, even those who roll their eyes and are too-cool-for-school, they respond. Am I naive? Probably. Will I stop? I certainly hope not. I have taught in different states and different countries and I have discovered that kids want to be adored, they want to be loved and they want to drive you crazy, all at the same time.
Please, don't give up, on teaching and on them. They need you. Have I taught in New York? No. I say again, am I naive? Without a doubt.

So it would appear that big boobied women want to find me. Now, this is a good thing, but I suppose I should explain. I am on facebook. Now I know what most people say about social networking sites. And for the most part I agree, yet facebook has allowed me to stay in contact with wonderful people all over the world and for that,...
