Okay, so slowly I'm actually beginning to like my job. I think I just needed some time to adjust. I spent three years working at and managing a different theater in Wyoming (owned by the same company I work for now) where everything was super relaxed. But since Casper is company headquarters everything here is way strict, which is actually better because it is more efficient and I'm learning so much about theater management.
However, I'm disappointed because, despite the fact that I was an assistant manager at another theater, I still have to work my way up to management here. That means it may be a few months before I'm in the management position I was offered when I first moved here. I understand their reasoning for starting me at the bottom but it's still frustrating. I'm basically doing the same exact job that I did when I was still in high school. Only now I have a college degree. What was the point of pursuing higher education?
Even though I like my job I'm searching for something else that'll let me use my degree and pay me a higher salary, hopefully with benefits. It probably won't be something I'm passionate about (like movie theaters or entertainment) but I just want something that'll challenge me and pay me enough to survive on. Thank goodness my boyfriend has a good paying job because he's going to be paying most of the bill for a while until I can find something better.
This whole being an adult and being in the real world isn't as much fun as I thought it would be.
