what is it about laughter and children's voices in the morning that makes me nostalgic to the core? It is said that you can never go home. Unfortunately for me that is painfully true. I can't quite say for sure because I've only travelled a part of the path but the speculation is the following... between the time you leave home and you have your own family you miss your childhood, doing all things together, singalongs, group naps in the afternoon, simple choices.... Then you become the parent and after the kids leave you miss their childhood, little voices, little shoes, booboos, fingerart... or maybe that's just me...
You only have one go at each one... not a whole lot of choice for the first one... When it's their childhood I just want to make sure I'm not a fumbling idiot and have the wits to make the best choices for them where they are not able to make for themselves...
For the time being I stay home on this extended weekend working overtime at short notice and reveling at the magnificense of the census website... good times...
