Happy Thanksgiving!
ORIGINAL:
Been dog sitting for my cousin at my aunts again.
(I'm on vacation)
My sister, her fiance, and I went to a new restaurant. It's a Japanese place but the chef specials are korean.
(Good good food)
We started off with appetizers. I noticed that the names of the sushi rolls are local stuff.
(Named after the local college, the nearby golf course, the UFC, M&Ms for crying out loud!)
We ordered dumplings, hurricane roll, a crunch ball, a scallion and vegetable pancake, and we got miso soup with our food.
(Spicy Tuna Spicy Tuna Spicy Tuna Spicy Tuna Spicy Tuna Spicy Tuna SPICY TUNA)
We took the "Let me try that approach" and I had sliced baby octopus, Bulgogi, chicken yakisoba, Jap Chae, and it was all delicious.
(I can only remember what was what because I have the menu open in the next tab over)
The waitress came over and asked if we would like some Kim Chee (sp?)
(Two bowls of radish/cabbage cubes, so so good. I asked if it was buried in the back yard and it got a laugh)
The food was so worth it. Eventually, when I'm made of money, I'm going to sit at the Sushi bar and have Spicy Tuna all day.
(The only problem the place has is the way you get in. If you plan to make a left turn, you have to cross two lanes of oncoming traffic. Or you can make an easier turn down the road in a Wendy's/Applebees parking lot and then double back to make a right. Not to mention that the place is surrounded by fast food. There's very few parking spots. The main competition the place has is the other Japanese place (never ate there) that has good sushi and motherfucking Hibachi grills (we're simple people here, we like juggling acts) but I really hope this place stays in business as long as possible because this food is incredible)
It was a good day today.
