Okay, first day with internet on an actual computer in... five days.
I'm sure everyone's heard about New Jersey's semi-annual october snow storm that fucks shit up.
I spent mine with a nice cold. Or flu. Whatever one that gives you a sore throat, a fever, and fluid in your lungs.
I really appreciate having to camp inside my own home. Nothing like burning oil to see what you're doing. Or shoving snow into buckets to keep the food cold.
The grill was low on gas, so ribs night didn't go as planned. Mom tried using a blow torch for French Onion Soup. It was close but not really right.
I managed to finished the remaining seven hundred pages of Atlas Shrugged. Once you get to A is A, it becomes really interesting. That's many hundreds of pages in though. And then Ayn Rand hits you with a fifty page rant. I hear it's thirty pages of rant in other editions of the typeset is set to size four. To be honest, I prefer The Fountainhead. That's about a man overcoming society bent to destroy him. Where as Atlas Shrugged is about everyone who could stop an economic apocalypse but didn't. But I don't read anything by Ayn Rand for her perfect heroes. The villains and her imperfect heroes are so much more interesting.
I missed my chance at the halloween interview with Calendar Man.
Even the cell phone towers were out. We lost the landline (we use an old rotary phone, that was fun) for a day or two. So that was a boring day to be sick.
What else? Oh yeah, not having a generator sucks. Having to listen to the rest of the neighborhood generators all day and night sucks harder.
Thankfully family will let you use their showers. And their internet.
One good thing this weekend: A contact I made at NYCC is paying off. More later.
