New York Comic Con is insane.
I love it to death but it needs to find a way to grow ten feet in all directions. It took up almost the entire javitz. I say almost because the food court wasn't probably put to proper use. we need booths down there.
Okay quick rundown
Thursday
Get there around four and it's perfect. Not so crowded that you can't move but everyone is happy there are people. I kicked off Draw Batman Blind. It took me some time to nut up and start having fun but I managed to get sketches from Cully Hamner, Chris Burnham, several others, and Dave Johnson was the first one I managed to get. It turned out great.
Friday
Got there at ten, walked right in. Met up with College friend one. I am so glad I got her (well, more like Bioware brought her there more than me but still) to come to NY. She had a great day. I didn't nearly get as much done but I got to see the Max Payne Demo and I got to meet Rob Liefeld and Robert Kirkman after a panel that I got to ask a question and get this huge response. Afterwards, I hung out with my NYU friend. She and I found a place called Croxley's Ale House. 10 cent motherfucking wings. Great house beer too. Met Rick Spears, bought Black Metal 1.
Saturday
I did not get a lot done. The crowds were too crazy. Meeting Pesky though, unforgettable. That woman needs to go pink as soon as possible. Had an awesome time just hanging with her and an Indie author. Best part of the night: buying coffee to use a bathroom. Ran into the occupy wall street crowd. And the thirty cops ready for action. Hell I was just annoyed Kinokuniya was closed at eight. Also, I left my copy of Black Metal 2 at the Oni Table.
Sunday
I was in and out. I had five or so artists to see if they'd be willing to do a sketch, got those after I got my Black Metal 2 book. Really can't wait for Pirates of Coney Island to finish. Went back to where I was staying, got my stuff, and got on the subway and got to penn station with ten minutes to spare before my ride home started boarding.
Special Shout out to the Suicide Girls Booth. It was fun meeting you all and I always enjoyed stopping by.
Now if you'll excuse me, I need to crash.
