Out of the blue yesterday, my buddy from high school calls me for the first time in 13 years. He completely disappeared off of the map. I never really knew what happened to him until yesterday.
We lived in a small town and he was from Chicago. He started dating this japanese lady and moved back to there with her. After that communication cut off. I always wondered if he'd turned into a junky or something and didn't feel like chatting us up.
It turns out that she and he moved to japan. He lived there for something like 9-10 years and then moved to SF where he's been for 4 years. Who the fuck would have thought that? I'm just glad that he's around and kicking. He should be coming to nyc soon and we are getting beers. it's going to be strange to see him but good.
