Today was a great day for bike riding. I'm not a super-hardcore-tight-fitting-clothes-wearing-cyclist, but I really like to get out on my bike. It's one of my favorite ways to exercise.
I've never really been big on explicitly exercising, but my job makes it necessary since I sit in cubicle about as much as I can stand it all day long. I take lots of breaks just to move around so I don't go insane.
I rode from my house, went through the loop (I have to admit, the freedom that I feel zipping past a line of backed-up traffic headed down delmar is amazing) and headed for forest park. I rode around the bike trail in the park for a a while. It's kind of fun noticing the faces of people heading the opposite direction, and then seeing them again halfway around the path. Then I rode home and cooked myself a good dinner.
Life is great sometimes. The rest of the time I'm at work. I like my job sometmes, but right now there is a renewed drive for accuracy in estimates/forecasting. Due dates and checkboxes are just a distraction from doing the things I like to do as a computer programer.
I need to get out and do more interesting things during the week. That would be a good way of breaking up the work week. I probably wouldn't mind work so much if I did things I liked after work each day.
