ok, my older brother(7yrs) lives with me in MY house. After about 11 mos. he got a job. Part time and crappy but oh well. I come home today and he is not here, I hope he picked up a shift at work but no. He comes home from a bar where he had some drinks and ate dinner. He also has a new game for the PS2.
Now mind you he has probably given me, $70 since he got here(15 mos. ago), for rent and bills. Rent is $300 a month(dirt fucking cheap) and bills are usually minimal. Well, it is winter and the gas bill was almost as much as my mortgage payment . But that is beside the fact, All in all his RESPONSIBILITY is maybe $400 or $450 a month. He drives my Mom's extra car, so no ins. or repair bills.
So if anyone is interested I am looking for a new roommate.
There is a hot tub.

Have you yet had the talk with him that if he doesn't give you money and do things arund the house aside form living like a vagrant that he's out on his ass? Id' definately drop that you're interviewing roommates even if you haven't started. Nothing hits like knowing that someone else has already set the balls in motion and that you can't persuade them to go back on it. It's a thought.
If he isn't already getting his life in order at 37 then I fear this is going to be the course of the rest of his life. When you're headign into 40 and you can't take care of yourself it's most probably you're never going to and have given up. Unless something should shock him into a more awake status. Drones.
