How on earth does a flat tax mean more for lower income households? Say, before taxes, you make $30k a year, and spend $22k, with a 10% increase on everything you buy, you would pay $2200 in taxes per year, leaving the $8k that you saved untouched. Now take that same income at todays income tax bracket, and you pay $4500 a year in taxes, including the amount you put into savings.
Everyone wants to tax the wealthy more, a flat tax does just that. If you spend a million a year, you pay $100,000 a year in taxes. they are still paying more in taxes than everyone else, because they spend more.
Tea Party... The only person to EVER pushed for a flat tax was Ron Paul, he also warned everyone about the subprime bank loans and exessive spending. I don't agree with much else with him, but he was right. Everyone said he was nuts, and look where we are now. Tea Party assholes can suck a fat cock. I'm for social liberalism and fiscal conservation. I find it rather comical that post makes you think I'm a dipshit like a tea partyist.
