Gahh! My interview is Thursday! I've spent /months/ preparing, but not even a minuscule amount of time practicing. I'll be fine; my practice interview went amazing. But I know I'm wasting the opportunity to polish answers by my lack of focused practice... Like surfing aimlessly instead of cracking down and studying!

My firefighting physical ability test is this Friday. And the panel interview is next Thursday. I'm confident I'll do quite well, but nervous because it means so much!

Work is going well. I'll be sad to leave Rocket whenever I start academy with firefighting.

I be having a place now. SE 30th Place & Pine. It be a large old full-furnished house, my room being the only one on the main floor which opens onto the large back deck and I have my own bathroom. All utilities including WiFi for $580 a month. I may feel like having some of you rascals over sometime...

Still looking for a job... Thought I had some super promising prospects but they were kinda old Craigslist postings and they said they loved my resume but had already hired others. I'll keep on keepin' on.

After 2 days scrambling to pack literally all my belongings, and 3 long but quite pleasant days on the train, I have arrived in Portland. Wow am I glad to be here. I have no doubt this will be my home for decades to come. Now to get settled...!

Back in the US! It was long tiring day, but I'm excited to be back. I went Nagoya > SF > Portland > Denver > Wichita. I dropped my luggage off in Portland and continued on to Wichita. I'm home now to pack for a couple days before taking Amtrak back out to Portland.
