Finally got a hold of this record company I was trying to reach to finalize the soundtrack of a film I'm producing. Independant filmmaking is not all the hooplah we hear about in the indie news.
I knew from the start, when I went from engineering to cinema it wasn't going to be a walk in the park and my teachers were right. That's why whenever I teach to young aspiring filmmakers, I always give the real deal, down and dirty, make no prisoners shit. Because there is so much to do when you tackle a film. Heck, I miss photography for just that: independance, low costs and no %?|!*&? crew to mother. While making independant films on the other hand is tons of paper, crazy hours, no money but the thing cost too much and you got crews, talent, legal matters, and sometimes the most stupid insignificant thing can bring a whole production to a halt.
I haven't blogged for a while, so I guess I'm going to follow up here.
