Oh, so we're gonna debate on what's dead or not are we?! Or did I just pull that out of nowhere? Regardless:

Zombies are people, or sometimes animals (or sometimes something more) that were once alive, dead, then UN-dead.

Vampires are people (usually) who are alive, then recieve the virus (or "blessing" to some) which gives them immortal life.

Although I suppose if I bit you, it wouldn't kill you...
