My neighbors cat just got attacked by 2 pit bulls.
I was getting ready for bed when I heard something ran past the window. I couldn't see what it was because the light was on. I turned it off but nothing was moving after that.
The next thing I know, Jim's cat, Abby is hissing, spitting, and wailing. I heard Jim yelling for something to 'get out of here.'
I went outside to ask Jim if his cat was alright when I see the 2 dogs running up on him from behind. I think it was a good thing that he didn't have any sort of weapon or hit them because they probably would've attacked him too if he tried to hurt them. I caught one by the collar when it ran past. The female was harder to catch. It kept trying to keep after Abby who had ran under his neighbor's van. I finally caught it though.
Someone called the cops and we waited for them. They tied up the dogs with rope and waited for animal control, shot guns ready in case the dogs escaped again.
After that, I helped Jim get Abby out from under the van. She wasn't in good shape. I saw some blood but not much. She did have an open wound on her chest. She had labored breathing. It's possible that a few stitches will heal her up. I hope so. The only open vet was about a 25 minute drive.
Poor kitty.
