So I had my first day of work today. It was ok. Not too busy, but hey it's Monday. I learned we harbor pilots for 3 airlines. A few people live at the hotel as well, including my boss. We're in the process of being changed into a Holiday Inn Express. Everything is going moderny. No more fancy marble picture frames.
I got a tour from my boss. She's very nice. The girl I worked with today is named Katherine. She's fun. Unfortunately I learned that her boy friend died in Iraq right before Christmas. She was going to a candle light vigil tonight for fallen soldiers. She tried to teach me the computer system. There's a lot to remember AND it's all going to change in June when the hotel switches over. I did a couple check outs and check ins. Check ins are harder. I learned the girls get free pizza about once a week though. Apparently every time 10 guests order pizza from a company, that company gives us a coupon for a free pizza. Not good for the diet!
Pam, my boss, isn't sure if she's going to make me full or part time yet. The job has it's perks and downfalls. The major downfall is that there is no insurance plan...even for full timers. The major perk is that I get an awesome discount for me and family. I'm gonna of course reserve all the rooms for my wedding there so my guests won't have to pay too much to stay over. Now I just gotta figure out how many rooms to reserve!
I'm also wondering if my discount applies to the jacuzzi rooms!

But there is a river and our cabin for boating and water fun.
