I defiantly had fun this weekend. Sunday me and my girls went over and harassed rpg at his studio. I don't know WHY he puts up with us! We made such a mess of the studio... undressing, dressing, undressing... there were costume and lingerie pieces everywhere! But we did get some fun pics out of the time...lets just say I never knew rainbow suspenders could be so HAWT!!
I would also like to take this time to go on a mini rant about body image. It sucks! I hate that some of the most GORGEOUS people (girls) I know don't like the way they look! I hate that popular society STILL has us dooped into thinking if you are not a size 0, you are too fat. Damn it's a shame. And even great sites like this have been known to cave into the image of a "perfect boy-shaped figure". When was the last time you saw a PSW set? There is never one I can think of. A few girls with love handles (big f'ing whoop!) but NO PSW! WTF?!
I realized over the last year that I came to terms with my own body. I seriously thought I was hideous in many ways, but one really just has to get over it. Everyone is going to have "fat days" where they feel like they are the Michelin Man, but those come and go. I'm talking about the every day. I know I have big thighs. It's just the way I'm built. I use to think of them as a downfall, a bad point about myself, but I've come to realize they are anything but! I'm short, I'm compact, so what? If I one day woke up with the thighs I thought I wanted, I'm sure something else would be to my disliking. And if I fixed that thing, there would be something else... so why on earth would I want to waste time worrying about a pound here or a pound there when I have so much LIFE I could be living! And by no means do I think that one should not take care of themselves because they are a "lost cause", I'm just saying don't sweat the petty things! There is more to life than love handles! Like all those fun ways you could try to work off those love handles...
Anyhooters, fun was muchly had. It's all good.
I'd also like to take this time to tell you about the Queer City Cinema. It's a film festival going from the 14th to the 25th all about Queer life and lifestyle. There are showings happening all over town, so there should defiantly be something within reasonable distance and there are a few events that are free. Beyond those tickets are $6 per screening or $10 for a double bill. It's $48 for the event pass which gets you into everything (minus the two screenings at the GLCR). More ticket info is available on the website.
So there's something to entertain you folks for the next few weeks.
Man I'm antsy. This whole not working till 5 thing sure makes one antsy. I have a whole day to do whatever with, but I don't know what the whatever is... if any one has ideas on what/who can keep me entertained feel free to tell me...
I think I'm going to start making some of my own clothes again. I really want a wardrobe that is unique, but you defiantly can't seem to find that in Regina without a hefty price tag...
