Today is special. It's our ninth wedding anniversary. Not that making it nine years was ever a question. If two people were ever meant for each other it's my husband and I.
We met online. Years ago my husband and I were regulars when ESPN.com used to have chat rooms for different sports. We hung out in the baseball room. Pretty much all of the time. There were a bunch of us who practically lived there. This was eleven-twelve years ago when the who chat room thing was kinda new. It wasn't like either of us were looking to hook up, I mean it's not a dating site or anything, just a place for baseball fans to talk. Both of us had hooked up with others before we got together. Those relationships were disasters. The guy I met was married, still is I think, and the chick he was with was married and completely psycho. She's dead now, he did an internet search for her a few years ago and found her obituary. I think it made him a little sad, but I was pretty pleased that the psycho bit it. Does that make me a bad person? I mean it's just that she really fucked him over, and I had nothing but disdain for anything she was about. I do feel bad for her kid though, I mean no one should lose their mom when she's only 35. Wow that was a digression wasn't it? Anyway, we always got along chatting, and he called me on the phone one day and we talked for over an hour. My mom asked who was on the phone, and I told her it was my best friend. He still is. Nobody has ever understood me the way Glenn does, and for that I will be eternally grateful.
I moved from Cumberland to Denver to be with him in June of 1998 and we've been together every day since. We got hitched in Las Vegas on April 13, 1999. It was just us and our families, and we had a super wonderful time. My mom took us to see Wayne Newton when he played at the MGM. The night before our wedding, we took the bus from the Riviera where we were staying to Mandalay Bay at the other end of the strip and we walked our way through most of the casinos all of the way back to the Riv. We got married at the Little White Wedding Chapel and it was just a simple ceremony. Our reception was at the Palm Restaurant at Caesar's Palace. The limo dropped us off in front of Caesars and we made our way to the restaurant through the floor of the casino. People clapped and offered congratulations as we passed. It was better than a big wedding, it felt like we were celebrities, kinda silly, but quite a great memory.
The last nine years have pretty much flown by, and we are still as in love as the day we were married. Not that every day has been easy, marriage requires effort, patience, and a lot of work. Both of us know how lucky we are, and we appreciate it every day.

Oh, and I just read your last blog before this one. I think I will watch Roadhouse in Jeff Healy's honor.
I also have a Polamalu Home Jersey and a Hines Ward "Shine" Jersey. I've become quite a big fan since moving here.
You know that you need to post pictures in your Renaissance outfits, you can't just mention it and leave us hanging.
