At the office again. Yes, I know it's Saturday. Hopefully, though, I won't be here more than a couple of hours. Still, it'll give me enough time to get some work finished AND cruise SG without keeping a look-out for the ever watchful eyes of the higher-ups.
Roxy's birthday party was last night, and lemme tell ya- even with L gone, and recent ripples in the usual calm pond of this group, we had a pretty goddamned good time. We started out at Aoki on Broadway, where we had a lovely Japanese meal- I don't really dig on sushi much, so I just stuck with the good ol' teriyaki. Roxy was worried that no one would show, but I think we managed to convince people to come out. I think freckle said it best last night, later on- "If I hung out with you guys every day of the week, it wouldn't be enough." I feel the exact same way, darlin'. Let's see, who all was there...
At dinner, there was:
Roxy (the birthday girl)
DreamMaker (her boy, and official photographer)
Myself (SGSeattle crew chief and general merrymaker)
freckle (SGSeattle vice-daddy and Official Flirt)
Kitten (our designated driver, because she had a car)
Murphy (our designated whipping boy)
vikprez (Murphy's partner in being abused)
Godzuki (one of the voices of reason)
Emeris (the other voice of reason, and really the one most knowledgable about Japanese cuisine)
Al (my co-partner in stupid)
After dinner, Godzuki and Emeris departed for burning at Golden Gardens, while the rest of us crawled down to Linda's for some serious birthday celebratin'. Later on, we were joined by:
Jesse (who just got off work)
navin (who just got out of another bar)
miss_piss (who I don't nearly see enough of )
Jolene (who I think I saw for about six seconds before running back to the relative safety of another bar)
Linz (who is fucking HAWT)
JB (who is a bad, bad man indeed- he knows why)
I THINK that's everyone. Anyway, we ended up consuming mass quantities of booze, picking on each other, and generally having a fucking rad time. I think we gave her a good night before she and DreamMaker head to Burning Man tomorrow.
Before last night, Roxy had told me that she had never really had a good birthday. We've gotten to be fairly close friends over the past few months, and when she told me that, it damn near broke my heart. So, I thought something should be done. I wanna thank everyone for coming out and helping make her day a bit more awesome.
