Has it really been a week since my last update? Wow.
For those of you who don't follow me on Twitter or don't have me added on Facebook, I've gotten back into running again. I had been wanting to do it for quite some time, but lacked any sort of motivation to actually get off my ass and get started. You can credit _Sylar_ with inspiring me - she's currently training for the Dublin Marathon, in an effort to raise money for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. Her ambition and dedication to this made me feel like a chump for not doing anything with myself, so I told her I would start following her training schedule with her, so that she would have one more person in her corner offering support and helping her maintain focus.
So last week, I started hitting the gym again. I logged about 12.5 miles last week, including a 4-mile stint on Saturday night that I thought was going to kill me. This week I'm only up to 5.25 miles so far, due to an extra day of rest to keep from aggravating my sore knee, but to make up for it I've also been incorporating some light weight-training into the routine. If I can do 3 miles tomorrow, and another 4 on Saturday, then I'll be back on schedule. The first few days were pretty rough, but now I look forward to it, and afterward I feel great, albeit a little tired. I'll be sure to post more about my progress as the weeks go by.
While we're on the subject, _Sylar_ has set up a fundraising website to help raise money for the event. The address is http://pages.teamintraining.org/dm/dublin09/ourherohannah and I'd encourage all of you to check it out, and if you can, make a donation. I've also had some fliers printed up that I'll be passing out at work, and I've got several other managers on board that have agreed to set up donation jars in their stores and offer their support. I've also got the wheels spinning on a couple of fundraising events, but more on that stuff later.
For now, I'm gonna grab a shower and maybe get some lunch. Back to work tomorrow. Ciao, kids.
