Yeah, I'm definitely glad I went to see NIN, because it was fucking AWESOME. They hardly played anything from the last few records - in fact, I would say about 80% of the set was comprised of material from Pretty Hate Machine and The Downward Spiral. I was pleasantly surprised by a few of the song choices, including "Reptile" and "Mr. Self Destruct," but I was even more surprised by the fact they didn't play "Closer" or "Terrible Lie," both of which have always been a staple of their live shows. Oh well. We got 90 minutes of great fucking music, so I'll not complain.
Last night, after a long and completely boring day at work, I had the opportunity to hang out with the lovely _Sylar_. We went out for a couple of drinks, then came back here, threw in a copy of "Clerks 2" and kept drinking. Then it was on to "Zack and Miri," then a few episodes of "Party Down" before finally getting a little old school with "Freaks and Geeks." At this point, it was around 6am and we were both drifting in and out of consciousness, so she headed home. I felt a tremendous amount of sympathy knowing that she had to work a double today, on only a couple hours of sleep.
As for me, I was back up around 9am to see a movie with a friend. It was my second theatrical viewing of "Wolverine," and the same things still bothered me - shoddy special effects and a mediocre script. But despite these grievances, I still enjoyed sitting through it again, and I'm sure I'll watch it at least one more time when it hits Blu-Ray, hopefully with some deleted or alternate scenes.
Post-movie, I popped into my store to take care of a couple of things, then came back here and crashed pretty hard. I slept for about 5 hours, then woke up, grabbed some food, and headed over to hang out with Dave, who was getting ready to go back to his store and help with the closing. I stuck around for a bit, then swung by Donovan and Lauren's house to visit with everyone and to wish Kate a happy birthday.
I'm looking forward to a pretty busy week. We've got the midnight release of "UFC Undisputed" tomorrow night, followed by another release day on Tuesday. Wednesday I'm working and then going to see Margot and the Nuclear So and Sos, along with Kate and _Sylar_. Thursday is Thursday, of course, and I'm working the busy shifts all weekend and preparing for our big Memorial Day Sidewalk Sale. I also need to find time to squeeze in a viewing of "Terminator Salvation," and I would REALLY like to catch "Star Trek" at the IMAX sometime in the very near future.
For now - I sleep.

I am super excited about all of this, but at the same time I'm sooo worried about failing. I appreciate you being here to support me. You're the best!
