12 days since my last entry. Shit. So much for staying on top of the updates, yeah?
Although I was incredibly sore and ill-tempered for the first few days, getting back into the swing of things at the gym has been a welcome change. It feels good to be doing something besides sitting around on the couch, and according to my weekly weigh-in, I had dropped down to 231.6 pounds. Five pounds in the first week? Yeah, I'm okay with that.
There have been a few changes at work that will be taking effect tomorrow. Dave will be transferring to the Ahwatukee store to continue his training, which is a great thing for him, since he'll not only be edging closer to getting a store of his own, but will be able to save a ton of money by walking or biking to work every day. In his place, we're getting Kieran, who finally decided to step up to the next level after 5 years with the company. It'll be nice to have another friendly face hanging around, and she brings a ton of sales experience to the table, but I'd by lying if I said I wasn't a little bit disappointed about losing Dave. Them's the breaks, I suppose.
Going forward, things at work are about to get pretty hellish. Meetings, midnight launches, inventories, regional visits, and huge releases all jam-packed into the next few weeks. I love staying busy all day, but I hate the dramatic increase in stress that goes along with the holiday madness. For me, stress tends to lead to increased consumption of food and alcohol, which are two things I'm trying to avoid. Gotta keep focused, try not to let things get to me as badly this year as they have in years previous.
Some of you folks may have noticed my status has recently changed. There's a bit of a story there, and one of these days, I'll lay out the details for the handful of you that actually enjoy reading about that sort of thing, but things are still kinda new and fresh and I don't wanna jinx it by talking about it incessantly. For now, I'll just tell you that she's intelligent, down-to-earth, brutally honest, beautiful, and genuine. Her name is Sarah, and to say that I like her quite a bit would be a tremendous understatement. She's fucking fantastic.
So that's the news, kids. It's late and I need my beauty sleep.
