Nine times out of ten, when my phone rings early in the morning on my day off, and it's NOT an emergency and NOT job-related, i will not be a very pleasant person to deal with.
However, when the person on the other end of the phone, who happens to be one of my closest friends and one of my most favorite people in the world, is drunkenly (very drunkenly) suggesting that i come over and watch "Aqua Teen Hunger Force," i'm far too amused to be unpleasant.
Thus were the events of Thursday morning. I dragged myself out of bed MUCH earlier than i had originally planned and drove over to Sheena's place, where we shared a bottle of vodka and did, indeed, watch "Aqua Teen Hunger Force" before falling asleep in her oddly-shaped Batcave of a bedroom somewhere around 1:30. I didn't nap long, having enjoyed a full night's rest, so i woke up and slipped out a couple of hours later, being careful not to wake my snoozing counterpart. You know what they say - it's best to let a sleeping Sheena lie.
Also on Thursday, i stopped in to pay the deposit on my new apartment. Yes, kids, i'm FINALLY moving. Avon may not be as close as some of you might like, but it's still a lot closer than Heritage Lake, and the place i'm moving into is far nicer than anyplace i've lived previously. I'm very much looking forward to having my own place again - no more sleeping on couches or in guest rooms (at least not out of necessity). I'm moving the weekend of July 20th. Once i get settled, i promise that you'll all be seeing a great deal more of me - whether you like it or not.
Another event from Thursday - bidding a sad, fond farewell to my District Manager, who is returning to the market he transferred from initially. It's a shame, because i've learned more and developed faster during the last few months working for him than i have during the entire rest of my time with the company. He's a tremendous individual, and i have nothing but the utmost respect for him. He'll be missed.
The diet and exercise thing is going well in the early stages. I've found the slight modifications i've made to my eating habits have had an enormous impact on the amount of energy i have, so i'm not nearly as tired and sluggish as i've been lately. I'm still adjusting to eating such smaller amounts of food, however, and my stomach reminds me how unhappy it is by making these weird velociraptor noises, but we'll manage. A few weeks of this and it'll become the norm.
Today was a rough day. Very rough. Very stressful. I think it'll be an early night for your pal Brent. Thanks for reading.
