PRE-THANKSGIVING DAY POST:
I just spent the past two weeks packing up my house in Ferndale, having a moving company load it up on a truck and deliver it to my new pad in Danville, KY. For those who have no clue where that is here's a map:
Marc's New Place
BTW.. The mileage is a few miles off, and the time is about 3 hours too much. I don't speed... Really.
The truck showed up yesterday and the guys unloaded my stuff after some electrical gremlins on the truck delayed them. So far I've only found a few damaged objects. They broke my fake Christmas tree, dammit!!!! Last night and today were spent getting the house somewhat in order. I still have far to go, but I can at least move around. My daughter's room is full and a complete disaster. Fortunately I don't expect them to come for their first visit until Christmas. I'm still unsure if everything will comfortably fit. My plan is to do a lot of weeding out of books and magazines and other misc stuff to make sure I've got ample room left over. Why, you ask? Because Carla will likely be moving in.... probably in the Spring if she can get out of her current lease then. If not, it'll wait until she can. She has lot's of cool toys and gadgets that I want to make sure we have room to display!
She also has a shitload of clothes...
Tomorrow I get a couple more hours of organizing done and then hit the road back to Detroit for the holiday. Carla and I are going out to Necto on Wednesday evening and then off to have dinner with her parents and her mom's husband on Thanksgiving. (Yes, the parents are divorced!!) Later on Thanksgiving we'll be going to hang out with Nalar and Liadan at their place. I'm looking forward to a little more time with friends before I start working next week.
Friday and Saturday will be dedicated primarily to my daughters. We'll be camping out in my near empty house in Ferndale. The girls like camping...
Then back home early Sunday so I have time to relax a bit and prepare for my first day of work at Panasonic.
I'll be offline once I leave here.... Everyone have a safe and peaceful holiday.
