Ok so this weekend not only is it halloween but according to the "homework" tread for blogging it is also national authors day and I am taking the opportunity to write about my favourite author.
For me I loved the Harry Potter books, and the movies were the closest i've ever seen a movie come to being exactly like the books. The imagination, and the ability of J.K. Rowling to not only write phenomenal, intricate novels who all tied together perfectly in itself is a beautiful thing to me. However the greatest part of her stories, I find, comes from the foreshadowing done in the first books right through to the end, and the little hints that are hidden in the first novel, or second, that pop up in the final parts of the series it's actually really amazing to think she thought that far ahead to tie the whole story together.
Now not many people know this but recently J.K Rowling wrote some new novels (once again a series). However this time she goes by the pseudonym Robert Galbraith. I have only recently started reading the novel "The Cuckoo's Calling" but I am hooked. As a person who lives crime novels and how your constantly guessing the who did it and why, this book is fantastic!! Its only the first in the series of 3 novels but if its anything like the Harry potter series I am sure it wont disappoint!!
I highly recommend if your a reader to check out these novels, they are less child like then Harry Potter and aimed at an older crowd and if crime and mystery is what your into, well this is it!!
Enjoy
