I find that I function a hell of a lot better when I have 80 bazillion things on my plate rather than just a few. The past two weekends have been long weekends and I proved relatively incapable of getting ahead on any work. Yet when I have a full day of classes, meetings, and immediate responsibilites, I take care of everything like a smooth and damn productive machine. Rock.
I love the spring. Granted, it lasts approximately three and a half days in Boston, but I love it. In all the years I have lived in Massachusetts, I had never actually watched the infamous Boston Marathon - of course, I had never before lived a five minute walk from the course. It was fantastic - it was very hot out, but my friend and I planted outselves at the 21 mile mark, ate ice cream, rolled up our sleeves in an attempt to tan, and cheered on all the runners (including our classmate, who finished with an excellent time.) Of course, the spring also means that pretty much every day has a three-hour-plus zone of not working thanks to my beloved Red Sox (yes, darlings, I am a diehard, hardcore, fanatical Red Sox fan - I go to at least a dozen games a season and usually more, I have kept score [the real way] at every game I have been to since I was 9, and my day-to-day mood honestly hinges largely on whether the Sox win or lose.) I would like to emphasize - especially for the benefit of my beloved psych_rock that my Sox took three out of four from the Evil Yankees (tm) this weekend. And that makes me grin. (I do love you, baby, despite your despicable loyalites).
