Saw Watchmen last night and I can see what all of the fuss was about! I really enjoyed it. That said, I have read none of the comics so I might just be in blissful ignorance and be missing all of the major flaws in it. I've heard a lot of negative things from disgruntled, die-hard fans but, frankly, I don't care. It was fun. Massively graphic (I had kind of expected that, mind) but I adored the way that the film handled the Golden Age superheroes and the soundtrack was awesome.
We went to one of my favourite restaurants afterwards as well, which made me happy. It's a Mexican at the other end of town which is a little bit... Disneyland for want of a better word. It's all guns, sombreros and horse saddles fixed to the walls and they have a special Spanish Birthday song for anyone who's having a party there. As there were only two of us we didn't do the someone-pretend-it's-your-birthday-so's-we-can-get-free-stuff ploy but it was still a really good night.
As for today, I'm going to try and get my hair cut and actually try and be productive!... Ooor, I might just stay in my pj's all day. Sounds like a plan.
