Gah. So, after living in the same place for 10 years (the lease holder has been here 20), and building the most awesome photo studio ever in it, I'm getting evicted. I just got a two week notice. Um. Yeah, the land lord is a little unclear on the concept of The Ellis Act. They even showed up a couple days after the "eviction" notice to see the place and possibly leave some stuff here.
Um. No.
So, I'm sure it will take them a couple months to actually move forward with the eviction, but still, this means I'm losing my studio. This sucks. I have like, 600 square feet of space packed with costumes, props, furniture and backdrops and have no idea what I'm going to do with it all. I'm not sure I can part with it, but... what else to do. There is no way I can afford to rent another space this big. I know there are studio rentals and shooting on site, but ... nothing compares to having your own studio to play in.
