I spent my day doing ropes courses with troubled kids at a youth home. It was an awesome time. The kids totally blew me away and so did my classmates. I actually really love group problem solving activities. All of them required teamwork to complete and the kids were so communicative and helpful. There was really only one kid who simply refused to do anything. He actually stood under me while I was on the ropes telling me I was going to fall and that I couldn't do it. I think everyone but him made it over without giving up.
I accidentally showed up wearing a Joe Strummer shirt with an image of him smoking a blunt. I was in a rush this morning and didn't notice until it was too late. Awesomely enough I think that's probably one of the less scandalous t-shirts I own. I was smart enough not to wear anything with nekkid women playing guitars(Cramps), shooting guns(SCOTS), or being eviscerated(Gwar). Go me!
As you may guess, a lot has changed since I last posted. I've moved into my new place. Living in Providence again isn't anywhere near as bittersweet as I thought it would be. It's been more sweet than bitter, thankfully. I have written more in the past three weeks than I've written in the past three years. I just handed in a 20pg mid term this morning. Things are going at breakneck speed. I started pulling allnighters the first week. While I'd say I worked equally hard doing my undergrad, this is definitely more challenging. Making things comes naturally to me. Writing things does not. If I don't learn to focus on my writing this year is going to be painful.
I found out I will be assisting a teacher who is teaching an animated music video class during the fall semester. I was kind of hoping for the rubber mold making class, but hey, not bad! I also got another scholarship... so that's more money I don't have to pay back! Wooo!
This past weekend I went home to my old neighborhood for the yearly clambake. It's pretty much heaven on earth. Danny came up from NYC for the occasion.

One of my first projects was to tell my life story visually. i built a kinetic sculpture. I feel like it really represents the way I remember things. All of my memories are kind of floating around linked only by association. It was an interesting exercise, especially in my current state of mind.

I ran three miles after doing the ropes course and am now free of angst. I'm going to sleep now even if being in my pjs at this hour officially makes me old!
Hope all of my SG pals are doing well.

I don't have anything online, otherwise I'd love to send you a link. I tend to like to facilitate the viewing of my stuff ... probably cause I'm a control freak
