I read this earlier. It's an outrage. Even if she lived, she couldn't possibly give her children the quality care and high level of participation in their lives that a younger mother could. The same goes for a man who fathers a child past a certain age.

You know, I don't really see it as being that selfish. I can see the rational behind it as her mother lived to be over 100, and if she had lived to a similar age she would have had 36 years with them. My grandma died at 50, in fact all my grandparents died of cancer and my sister has already had precancerous cells a number of times, does that make us selfish for having children? Does it make grandparents who raise their grandchildren selfish as they have just as much chance of dying as this woman did?
