I just got in from the movies. Clearly from the caption of this blog, I saw 'Iron Man'. I wanted to go see it waaay before it was ever in theatres, but unfortunately lack of funds prevented me from seeing it opening night, like I would have preferred. Regardless, I saw it tonight... and my opinion of it is:
THAT IT ROCKED MY FREAKING SOCKS OFF!!!!!!!!!!!
For anyone who maybe isn't a huge Marvel fan. This is BY FAR the best Marvel to date. I know some of the previous Marvels such as The Hulk, Ghost Rider, or Dare Devil weren't the best movies. To be truthful, they were pretty lame and cheesy... "kiddy" if you will. However, IronMan was filled with action!! Filled with hot beefy men such as robert downey jr and terrence howard.
Might I just add, that I have had THE BIGGEST crush on Terrence Howard FOR YEARS!!! He is my 'celebrity crush'. He's just down right charming and I wanna eat him right up! mmm... *wipes drool from face*
Sorry about that... Anyway, Robert Downey Jr is amazing in this movie. I liked him before in previous movies... but now I LOVE HIM!!! I love what they did with the movie. It's amazing and I only have good things to say about it!!! I haven't been this stoked for a marvel movie since SpiderMan 3 (which I was highly disappointed with)
Tid-bit of the day that some of you may or may not have known about me:
I spent every last penny I earned growing up, on Marvel cards!! I would run to the store with a quarter just to get a Marvel card from those vendor machine type things. In total I had 3 full sets of the cards. There were a few limited edition holograph ones I didn't get, hence, going back and buying more and more and more, to try and get them! (ending up with 3 sets minus a couple)
Anyway... I didn't know much about the background of each and everyone of the heroes and villains on the cards... but looking at them all, made me day dream. They made me day dream of being just like the awesome images on those cards. I was fascinated with the idea of a super hero, and hoped that one day a real life super hero would come into my life.
Now that I'm grown up, I realize that super heroes dont exist. But there is still a part of me that believes there is a hero in each and every one of us... simply by making the right choices everyday. Looking out for one another. Thinking of someone outside of yourself.
Watching these marvel movies brings back a piece of my childhood! The movie brought back curiosity and belief into my heart. It's a genuine and over whelming feeling to have that innocence back, if only for the duration of the movie. I advise everyone to dork out and see IronMan ASAP!
and if you don't like Marvel, at least go for Robert Downey Jr.
