I've been in St.John's now for 3 and a half months... I would say that 80% of the time I'm either irritated, bored or depressed due to the fact that there is nothing to do here, also because I have no funds to do anything, or just aggravated that I have no friends to do anything with.
Last night was the most fun I've had since I landed on this rock!!! Molson Canadian was putting out a 19+ concert to show their love for all the beer drinkers here in St.John's.. the only way you could get a ticket was if you won it in a box of Canadian beer! A lot of people would put them on the Buy and Sell, but they were going for 80 bucks (because it was a double pass) And I couldn't afford 80 bucks, so I figured I wouldn't be going (as much as I wanted to)
My boyfriend got a ticket the night before the concert. He was going to be going with one of his friends from work who offered him a pass. I was sooo fucking distraught because I was going to be the only one who -didn't- have a ticket! I mean, it was the night before the show!!! Chances were slim. Somehow, the next day.. Ronnie (my bf) was able to talk down a ticket from 80 to 40, then I sold the other pass for 20... so really I got in the concert for 20 bucks!!! I knew some people that paid 100 bucks for their tickets!!!!
Anyway, I'm so utterly stoked I had the opportunity to go because I had a blast. Queen's of the Stone Age are a sweet band, amazing live, and I can't wait til they come back! I think I'll be attending a lot more concerts, regardless of if I have the money or not... because I need to get out there and do more shit! I'm tired of sitting home twiddling my thumbs.
Here's some pictures of the show. Decent, considering we were kind of far away and it was just my digital cam with no flash on! So pumped! I got vids too, I'll add them to youtube and add them later.
an hour before the show started: we were close but far.
