It's possible.
I met a woman over the weekend. Her name is Michele Kern. She was one of the most amazing women I've ever had the pleasure of meeting. Our encounter was brief, but to her I know it meant something. It means something to me too. She was travelling from Chicago to D.C. She has been buddhist for 26 years. She has fallen in love with her teacher, her lama. They are meeting in D.C. the next couple of weeks for festivals and gatherings of all the buddhists to meet the Dalai Lama himself. After these two weeks are over, she will either be leaving the country to travel to Tibet, Mongolia, and I can't remember the third place. She is not set to return. She won't go if she can confess her love for him. She asked for my help with finding a way to tell him. I couldn't be much help, but I did tell her how I felt about D.C. I recently had the time of my life out there and will always think of D.C. to remember those times. I wished the same experience for her and I knew that meant so much to her.
She told me people are magic. People have the will to do; to make things happen. She said she'd pray for me, and I have kept her close in my thoughts hoping things go well for her.
On her way between Indiana and Ohio, she saw a bumper sticker on the back of an old rusted out Astro van saying "I LOVE YOU". She knew whoever was driving the van most likely did not put that sticker on there. It was put on there for her. And sure enough, it turned out to be a young teenage boy drivng the van.
Things seem to happen without reason sometimes. But I trust everything happens for a reason. I believe we hurt so we can know what happiness feels like. I believe we lose the ones we love so we can learn to love the ones around us even more. For every door closed a window is opened; every missed opportunity a wish is made.
I thought about writing something else, but I don't think the timing is right.

You know I met one of those people last week. It was quite cool and odd at the same time.
