I travelled this week(end) to visit a very amazing guy in Washington D.C.
I've never really been treated like that before; in every sense.
I had a great time. Truly, I had an amazing time.
I did cry a few times on the way home. Only slightly because of him. This was the first time we've ever met, but I've known him for a while. I think I was more sad over him because I don't know if I'll see him ever again. He is leaving back for Iraq tomorrow. I mean, this is his job though, and he's been doing it for a while. But I've just never had to say bye to anyone like that before.
He treated me like the woman I've never been treated like.
D.C. was something else. We didn't do anything touristy really. Went to one smaller museum: The National Museum of Crime and Punishment. We had a great time there.
We went to a few AMAZING restaurants. My favorite being Ray's Hell Burger in Arlington, VA last night.
After our two HUGE bugers, we walked through the city, not by choice, and found ourselves at the movies. I say not by choice because we turned the wrong way out of the restaurant. It was a really nice walk, though.
I left Dayton Thursday evening. My flight was scheduled to leave at 6:18pm. We boarded and even pulled onto the runway ahead of schedule. Awesome, right? Wrong! We were stuck on the runway for two hours. They stopped all traffic in and out of BWI, MD, due to storms. Our original delay was 45 min. I finally landed around 9:45pm. (It was only an hour flight.. You do the math!) I was in his arms by 10:00pm.
We went to dinner at a swanky Italian restaurant
Had awesome pizza. But that was in Georgetown. People thought I was a freak. I stepped out of the cab and the entire patio, donned in suits and dresses, turns and gawks at me. Then two men walking by stop and hollar, "Damn girl, lemme see those tats." MD (name for my fella) was jokingly saying he'd leave me in a back alley in Georgetown somewhere, to which I relpied, "Yeah, they're gonna be the ones scared of me! I should be fine." Haha. We walked halfway back to the hotel, the so assumed Super 8, or Holiday Inn. Oh no, it was the Ritz Carlton on 22nd street. Gorgeous place.
Lunch yesterday was nice and light. We ate at Zaytina. I had no idea what I ordered really, but it was delicious. Had a pint of Magic Hat #9 too! Yummy. Here's just a pic I took of the fancy flat water.
We followed lunch with a walk through China town to the museums. This was the only thing in Chinatown which made it 'Chinatown."
Here are the rest of my pics!
