Not feeling so awesome today. Really nauseous and achey, my feet hurt and this kid feels like he's going to rip himself out of my belly.
Had an appointment at 2pm. Not very fun. At least I didn't wait 45 minutes to get called back. But I had a nurse I had never seen before who didn't know what she was friggin doing.. She had me lay back on the bed, the completely flat bed, for way too long and then didn't help me up. And my appointment was with the new doctor, not the 2 I've known for years or my C.N.P. I guess that was okay, she was nice, but I didn't know her. I suppose I needed to meet her because she could be delivering my baby.
But my appointment went dissapointingly as follows: "How are things? Oh you lost your plug? Congrats. You timed your contractions on Monday (ha ha ha). Are you having contractions still? I'm not going to check to see if you're dilated because well, I know you are. We plan to induce you after your next appointment next Wednesday if your cervix is inducable."
Excuse me? You have already planned to induce me? I have, technically, 3 weeks before I need induced for medical reasons. She told me they won't let me go past 41 weeks.. Well, according to the last due date they gave me, two weeks from today puts me exactly at 40 weeks. On the day, to the day, on the dot.
She did, however, tell me to have sex, and lots of it. But that other than feeling good it really won't help anything. (And I have to have someone to have sex wtih first off..) The hormones released only last for up to an hour and then are gone. She did reccomend walking for comfort, but nothing else. She said the body will only do what it's ready to do. Which, I understand and frankly, knew that already. But these are things to keep my mind and time occupied.
But, don't tell my OB, I've been reading a lot about it, and so far there's no "hurt" in doing this.. I am now the proud owner of a bottle of evening primrose oil. I opted for that over castor oil because I don't want diahrrea.
Plus, I figured out how to use my breast pump last night. Interesting feeling. Didn't hurt, but then again I don't have milk in yet, so that might be why.
For now.. I'm going to polish my nails and sit on my couch for the rest of the afternoon with my feet up and probably sleep. . . But, brownies are going in the oven first!
