"What are your holiday traditions?"
I'm not really a Christmas person. I used to be but I guess I grew fed up of the greed from people, the commercialized bullshit and the forcing yourself to be happy side to it...
For me, it's always pretty much been the same... I spend christmas day at home with my Mum and her husband and my Grandad (Mum's Dad) comes over for dinner. Before that we sometimes go to my middle sisters house to see my 2 nephews.
Anyways, dinner is at home and this year for me it's vegan! I went dairy free about 6 years ago then vegetarian about 3 years ago and now I pretty much lead a vegan lifestyle. I'm near to 100%. My only slip ups are when out eating I sometimes end up eating something that contains egg or milk and I don't realize.
It's certainly been the best thing I ever done. Not only for the animals but also for myself. My skin and health have improved incredible amounts. So for me, it works.
Anyways... We usually have presents before dinner then have dinner together. Followed by a buffet in the evening. Sometimes other family come over too. I never got to meet my other Grandad as he died when my Dad was young. My other Nan is sadly no longer with us.
I have quite abit of family in Australia and one time when I was 6 years old we spent christmas in Aus which was the best ever because I ADORE the sunshine! I spent about 9 weeks in Aus :) I would love to go back!
Then, the rest of the day is spent relaxing really. I usually end up on my computer working on an editing backlog. Terrible I know....
Come boxing day I like to try be up early and hit the sales in my local town. The reason I enjoy the sales is because I can stock up on lingerie, stockings, nice outfits, etc for photo shoots. I go early as I hate greedy people and cannot stand being pushed about. I only go for a few hours then come home.
So there you have it, my holiday season! Because I'm self employed it doesn't really make a big deal to me about the time off because I sometimes end up working some days during it anyway...
As for NYE, well, it varies... Most of the time I do nothing. But one time I was a dancer for Torture Garden fetish club here in London and it was the best NYE! Though, personally for me I rarely go to TG nowdays as I kinda grew bored of it. Infact, I grew bored of clubbing in general!
It sure would be nice to have a decent boyfriend to spend it with but alas my luck with men is pretty horrendous. But one year I'm sure I will be with someone who is right for me :)
I leave you with this photo I was working on today. Shot back in February. Don't you just love vintage style lingerie? This was a lace and mesh sheer corselette with suspenders attached :)
