so, I was an 18 year old girl dying to get inked as soon as possible. less than a month after my birthday, one of my best friends was dating a tattoo artist, and they decided to move to another city.
“you’re crazy”, I told them, as she was just 17 at the time and they were trying to get pregnant. but nonetheless, it was their lives.
they made their plans, and on the last month before the date they set, he decided to finish up every drop of ink and disposables he had. to do that, he was going to tattoo all their friend charging just R$ 15 (something around $3, on the actual currency 😂).
I thought it was the perfect opportunity to get my first tattoo, and decide to make a little phrase on my ribs. I searched the pinterest for some inspiration and couldn’t decide if I wanted to write “let me breath” or “set me free”. I said that to a friend and her answer was “why not both?”. so I put a comma between the sentences an voilà: here is the tattoo.
to be honest, I don’t really like it that much anymore. the strokes are too thick and the ink burst a little, but it was truly unbelievably cheap so I can’t complain, LOL. I though about covering it up, but it doesn’t bother me that much, and I still like the outcome of the phrases together. also, I think it’s a great reminder that you get what you pay for, and specially with tattoos that will be in your body forever, you should choose carefully.
I’m thinking of doing a tour on my tattoos here, what do you think? I really prefer my other tattoos, but I like the meaning I gave to this one 💖
